Do you think "comparing" kids might sometimes be in the eyes of the beholder?
Well...if someone tells me something that they're child is doing and they have absolutely no idea that Ari doesn't do that yet, then obviously they're not comparing or trying to brag or make me feel bad or anything like that. It's really only when I share something she's accomplished and they immediately come back with, "Oh well ____ did that at THIS age" that I get a little miffed. It's fine to be proud of your child and I don't think there's even anything wrong with bragging a little bit, but some parents should learn when to be tactful and just let the other parent in the conversation shine for a minute without one upping them.
